TECH BITS: Get Quick Control of Your Presentation (Faculty & Staff)

If you're giving a presentation and you want to get the audience's full attention or take a break, try this very simple tip. PowerPoint allows you to display a black or white slide at any time during your presentation by pressing a single key.

Press the "B" key to display a black screen or the "W" key to display a white screen. Press any key or click the mouse to return to your presentation.


Tech Bits: Find Out What's Trending in Google

Google Trends gathers and identifies popular topics and stories that are trending across Google Search, Google News and YouTube at the same time.

To find out what topics are currently trending, go to Google Trends. You can also click the main menu icon Google main menu icon in the top left corner of the trends screen for other options:


Tech Bits: Edit & Keep Track of Document Changes (Faculty & Staff)

Do you still rely on a hardcopy printout when reviewing and editing another person's document? If so, you may want to consider directly editing or adding comments within the document.

Both Microsoft Word and Google Docs enable you to incorporate suggestions to another person’s work without overwriting the original text.
