Wireless in Residence Halls

The wireless networks in Temple's residence halls provide access to Temple resources and the internet.

Network Overview

Temple’s residence halls have two secure wireless networks:

  • TUresnet - use for laptop/desktop computers and mobile devices (phones/tablets)
  • TUresnetextra - use for game consoles, streaming media players and similar devices


  • WiFi enabled device
  • Windows 7, 8.1, 10:  Major Manufacturers only (Dell, HP, Lenovo, Sony, Toshiba, Microsoft).  Sorry, custom or home-built systems are not supported.
  • Mac OS X 10.10 or later. (Yosemite, El Capitan or Sierra)
  • 4GB RAM minimum

Connect a Game Console or Media Player

To connect a media device in the residence halls:

  1. Register the Device
    Go to the TUconnect website and log in with your AccessNet username and password. Then follow the instructions to register the game console or media device. As part of this process, you will need to register the MAC address of the device. Instructions for obtaining the MAC address appear below.
  2. Connect the Device
    To connect the video game or media player, you will need to follow the instructions specific to your specific device. Use the TUresnetextra wireless network and when prompted for a password or key, type templeowls.
